3 Tips to Avoid Air Sickness
One of the worst things that can possibly happen to you whenever you are on an airplane is to experience motion sickness. For some of us, it is a regular occurrence that we have almost gotten used to, although it is certainly not something that we enjoy having. There may be others of us, however, who are perfectly fine whenever we are flying but for some reason or another, we may experience airsickness on a long flight. It is important for you to prepare in advance in order to overcome any of these problems, regardless of whether you have them regularly or not.
The first thing that is important for you to understand is that it is not always what you eat beforehand that is causing the airsickness. As a matter of fact, some people avoid eating altogether in order to overcome motion sickness and quickly realized that it doesn't help (and in many cases it hurts). Eating before flight is important but choosing the type of food that you are going to eat is even more important than that. Avoid any type of heavy protein, such as meat that would weigh heavy on your stomach for hours after you're done eating. You should also avoid any type of heavy, fatty food as well. One of the best things that you can eat is a healthy portion of pasta about two hours before you get on the flight.
Another thing that you can do to help avoid airsickness is to carry a few saltine crackers and an apple with you. Although these do not always help to avoid the airsickness, they can help to alleviate it to a certain extent once it begins. These saltine crackers are very light and will be good for your stomach. Eating some shavings of the Apple will give your body pectin which can also help you to overcome airsickness.
One final thing that you can do which may help you to avoid airsickness is to sip on a soda, which often helps to make the sickness go way. Along with that, you would want to let make sure that you're avoiding drinking any type of alcohol as this can make any problem that happens to come up with motion sickness much worse. By taking some precautions ahead of time, and being prepared in case airsickness strikes, you can successfully deal with it.
